Biography

Simon J Moody is a Senior Lecturer in Defence Studies at King's College London and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He completed his AHRC funded PhD at King’s College London in 2014. He holds an MA with Distinction in Modern History from the University of Leeds and a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Military International History from the University of Salford. Dr. Moody specializes in the history of strategic thought, theories of war, nuclear strategy, and British defence policy post-1945. He authored the monograph 'Imagining Nuclear War: The British Army, 1945-1989', which was published by Oxford University Press in 2019. His research centre focuses on promoting scholarly history of war and its dimensions, training research students, and hosting research projects and conferences.
