Professor of Neurotechnology and Director of the Centre for Neurotechnology at Imperial College London, Simon Schultz originally trained in physics, applied mathematics, and electrical engineering at Monash and Sydney Universities, before completing a DPhil in computational neuroscience at Oxford University. He has held postdoctoral positions in experimental neuroscience at New York University under the guidance of Tony Movshon and at University College London with Michael Häusser. Since joining Imperial in 2004, he has focused his research on understanding how memory works in the brain and developing treatments for memory disorders. Additionally, he has been involved in developing and applying new technologies for studying the brain. His affiliations include being an Affiliate Faculty member at the Sainsbury-Wellcome Centre for Neural Circuits and Behaviour at UCL.
