Biography

Simon Skinner is an Associate Professor of History at Balliol College, University of Oxford. His research primarily focuses on nineteenth-century British political and religious history, with a particular emphasis on Robert Peel and the implications of the Maynooth Grant controversy. He has published a significant work on the political and social thought of the Tractarians, which was released by Oxford University Press in 2004. In addition to his book, he has contributed numerous entries related to clergymen, writers, and motorcycle racers for the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.
