Biography

Professor Simon Thibault is the current Director of the Department of Physics, Engineering Physics and Optics at Laval University and a researcher in optical design. He has held the industrial chair in optical design since 2008. He was recognized as a Fellow of Optica (formerly OSA) in 2021 and Fellow of SPIE in 2018. He is involved in several Optica and SPIE conferences, including chairing the International Optical Design Conference (IODC) in June 2023. His innovative work focuses on ways to shape light.
