Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Simon Viel. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Simon Viel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Carleton University, specializing in Experimental Particle Physics. His current research focuses on the development of software for detector simulation and event reconstruction, as well as data analysis within next-generation liquid argon experiments aimed at detecting dark matter. Viel evaluates the suitability of silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) detectors for detecting scintillation light produced in liquid argon and xenon. His work is integral to future large-scale, low-background experiments. He is actively recruiting new postdoctoral researchers and students to expand his research group.
