Biography

Simona Maria Brambati is a full professor in the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of the Université de Montréal and holds the Courtois Chair in Fundamental Neurosciences III at the Université de Montréal. She obtained her PhD in Molecular Medicine from Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan, Italy. She conducted postdoctoral studies at the Memory Aging Center at the University of California, San Francisco, and another at the Université de Montréal. Since 2011, she has been leading the LINGUA laboratory, focusing on research themes including language recovery in post-stroke aphasia and the cognitive mechanisms underlying language processing. Brambati is involved in various research projects and contributes actively to student supervision and academic mentorship within her department. Her research interests encompass cognitive neuropsychology, semantic memory, cognitive neuroscience, and the effects of aging on language and memory. She regularly collaborates with various affiliated institutions, including the CIUSSS du Nord-de-l'Île-de-Montréal, to enhance interdisciplinary research in her field.
