Professor Dr. Simone Dimartino

Biography

Simone Dimartino is a Senior Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, specializing in high-resolution 3D printing methods and bioseparations for bioproducts and pharmaceuticals, with a particular focus on chromatography. She earned her laurea summa cum laude in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bologna in 2005 and completed her PhD in the same field at the same university in 2009. Furthermore, she holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Teaching from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, awarded in 2014. Her academic interests also extend to material science, specifically biomaterials and wet-resistant adhesives. Over the years, she has been affiliated with various institutes including the Biomolecular Interaction Centre at the University of Canterbury. Dimartino is an Associate Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and a member of New Zealand Bio (NZBio).
