Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Sina Kheirkhah. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Sina Kheirkhah is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan campus. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies, where he investigated fundamental combustion science in the propulsion combustion laboratory. As an NSERC postdoctoral fellow, he studied combustion instabilities, particularly thermo-acoustics, which occur in commercial aircraft gas turbine engine combustors at the University of Toronto’s experimental engines laboratory. Prior to joining UBC, Dr. Kheirkhah lectured on combustion processes and fluid mechanics at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. His research primarily focuses on Combustion Propulsion Power, aiming to train highly qualified researchers and develop technologies that contribute to large-scale power generation industries and mitigate combustion instabilities in the design and improvement of combustion engines. His laboratory actively seeks motivated students for both Ph.D. and master's positions. Research interests include thermoacoustics of combustion equipment, turbulent premixed combustion, and flame-vortex interactions.
