Biography

Sina Stapelfeldt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London. He is a member of the Rolls-Royce Vibration University Technology Centre. His research focuses on aeroelasticity, unsteady flows, and turbomachines. Specifically, he is working on improving modeling tools to predict self-excited and forced vibrations in aero-engines. Sina completed his MEng degree in Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London and received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2014, with a thesis entitled ‘Advanced methods for multi-row forced response flutter computations’. Prior to his academic role, he worked as a development engineer at Rolls-Royce in Germany before returning to Imperial College in 2016.
