Dr. Sinan Gunturk

Biography

Sinan Gunturk is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at New York University. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Computational Mathematics from Princeton University in 2000 and holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering from Bogazici University, which he completed in 1996. His research primarily revolves around efficient digital representations of analog signals, a field that encompasses various aspects of sampling theory and signal processing. He has a notable focus on harmonic analysis, quantization theory, and information theory, and has worked extensively on approximation theory, particularly in the context of sigma-delta modulation schemes within classical settings of bandlimited functions.
