Biography

Sing-Hoi Sze is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Southern California in 2000. Prior to that, he earned his M.S. in Computer Science from Pennsylvania State University in 1995 and his B.S. in Computer Science from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1990. His primary research interests lie in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, where he focuses on multiple sequence alignment, motif finding applications, and predicting transcription factor binding sites. Additionally, he works on biological network analysis and the identification of gene clusters in genomes. His contributions to the field have been recognized, particularly with honors such as the Undergraduate Faculty Teaching Award from the Computer Science Department in 2006.
