Biography

Sirietta Simoncini holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University Institute of Architecture of Venice in Italy and has worked for years as the chief architect in a city in Northern Italy. She is a co-founder of InTAdesign, an architectural firm active in both Italy and the U.S. In addition to her architectural practice, she has worked as an art film curator for various cultural institutions. Sirietta has taught design thinking as a coach at Stanford's d.school and facilitated workshops at McGill and Yale Universities, as well as for organizations including jetBlue, Target, and the World Bank. Currently, she teaches art and innovation in the Systems Engineering program at Cornell, where she instructs graduate students from various colleges, institutes, and schools to collaboratively design and build solutions for complex challenges posed by actual sponsors. She emphasizes the importance of cross-collaboration, a hands-on approach, and nurturing T-shaped skills, believing that inspiration and innovation stem from observing and interacting with real people in context.
