Biography

Sirisak Chanprasert graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. Following this, he completed his residency training in internal medicine at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY, before undertaking residency training in medical genetics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Dr. Chanprasert completed a fellowship in medical biochemical genetics at the same institution and further pursued a fellowship in Academic/Research Genetics at the University of Washington. He is board certified in internal medicine, medical genetics, and medical biochemical genetics. Dr. Chanprasert has considerable experience in mitochondrial medicine, having completed a research fellowship at the Seattle Children's Research Institute. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Division of Medical Genetics in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington. His clinical interests include adult-onset metabolic conditions and mitochondrial diseases, with a focus on transitional care for patients as they move into adulthood. He is actively involved in clinical research aimed at characterizing these conditions to develop effective treatment strategies.
