Dr. Sisi Meng

Biography

Sisi Meng is a Senior Lecturer at the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. Her research focuses on the intersection of environmental and resource economics with an emphasis on climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and sustainability. She employs Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Spatial Analysis to better understand the economic implications of environmental policies. Meng has a strong interest in the impacts of extreme weather events on infrastructure resilience and human behavior in evacuation scenarios, particularly in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. She has authored several publications that explore issues like environmental justice, critical infrastructure resilience, and the socioeconomic factors contributing to climate-related vulnerabilities. Meng holds a PhD and Master's degree from Florida International University, along with a Master's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor's degree from Capital University of Economics and Business.
