Dr. Sisi Zlatanova

Biography

Sisi Zlatanova is a Professor at the University of New South Wales, specializing in 3D Indoor Modelling, 3D Geographic Information Systems (GIS), integration of Building Information Modelling (BIM) with GIS, and 3D spatial analysis. She holds a PhD in 3D GIS Urban Development from Graz University of Technology, Austria, and has authored or co-authored over 300 publications and edited/co-edited 23 books. Prior to her current position, Zlatanova has held academic roles at various institutions, including the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Bulgaria, the Institute of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation in the Netherlands, and the Graz University of Technology. Her recent research focuses on 3D Spatial Modelling and Analysis, and she supervises both masters and PhD students on related topics. Zlatanova is actively involved in international organizations and conferences related to spatial information science, including serving as the president of ISPRS TC IV. She joined UNSW in January 2018 and participates in leading projects concerning emergency response utilizing 3D BIM/GIS data. In her personal time, she enjoys walking, hiking, cycling, swimming, and reading.
