Biography

Siva Theja Maguluri is an Associate Professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, an M.S. in Applied Mathematics, and another M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also holds a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Before joining Georgia Tech, Dr. Maguluri was a Research Staff Member in the Mathematical Sciences Department at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center. His research interests are broadly in Applied Probability and Optimization, focusing on fundamental problems in Queueing Theory, Stochastic Optimization, and Distributed Optimization. He applies these tools to work on applied problems related to Scheduling, Resource Allocation, and Revenue Optimization across a variety of systems including Data Centers, Cloud Computing, Wireless Networks, Blockchains, and Ride-hailing systems. He is a co-recipient of the 'Best Publication in Applied Probability' award presented by the INFORMS Applied Probability Society in 2017.
