My research interests are focused on understanding the molecular basis of early development in stem cells, aberrations in stem cell signaling mechanisms, and how these relate to diseased states, tumor development, and cancer progression. Knowledge of stem cell development is critical for developing appropriate cell-based therapies for diseases and injuries. My prior and current works leverage traditional techniques such as gene targeting and lineage tracing, as well as state-of-the-art technologies including Single Cell RNA Sequencing, Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP-seq), and Imaging Mass Cytometry to elucidate fundamental molecular mechanisms underlying signaling in tissue biology.
