Biography

Dr. Sivakumar Nadarajan joined the Singapore Institute of Technology in July 2024 after obtaining his PhD in Electrical Power Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2016. Before joining SIT, he accumulated 15 years of experience as a Technical Manager and Head of the Center of Excellence in Electrical Equipment Health Monitoring at Rolls-Royce in Singapore. With a total of 19 years of industrial experience across aerospace, marine, automotive, and industrial sectors, Dr. Nadarajan has also served as a lecturer in a college affiliated with Anna University in Chennai, India. His research interests primarily focus on condition monitoring, failure prognosis, and safety in mission-critical applications, alongside architecting safety-critical electrical systems, applied AI in prognostic health management, fault-tolerant electrical machines, and medium-fidelity modeling and simulation of electrical drives. He has filed 40 patents in the USA and Europe and has published over 50 research papers in international journals and conferences. Additionally, Dr. Nadarajan is a certified Chartered Engineer by the Institution of Engineering and Technology in the UK, and he has received numerous awards for his innovations and contributions to engineering.
