Dr. Siyaram Pandey

Biography

Siyaram Pandey is a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Windsor. He holds a Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His research focuses primarily on the mechanisms of neurodegeneration and the role of oxidative stress in aging and related diseases, including Alzheimer's. His lab investigates the potential therapeutic effects of various agents such as single domain antibodies and pro-apoptotic proteins in combating cell death induced by necrosis or stroke. Over the years, Dr. Pandey has published numerous articles on the anti-cancer properties of plant extracts, focusing on their ability to induce apoptosis in various cancer cell lines. His work has contributed significantly to the understanding of how oxidative vulnerabilities in cancer cells can be exploited for therapeutic gains.
