Biography

Siyuan Wang received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Peking University in 2007 and his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Princeton University in 2011, followed by postdoctoral training at Harvard University. He joined Yale University in late 2017 and currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics and the Department of Cell Biology at the Yale School of Medicine. Wang's research aims to understand the spatial organization of mammalian chromatin and its implications for biological functions, such as gene expression and genome replication. Notably, he developed novel techniques for imaging and tracing chromatin structures that have significantly advanced the understanding of 3D genome organization and its alterations in cancer progression. His contributions in the field have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the American Physical Society Award for Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Research and the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award. Wang is committed to exploring the intricate relationships between chromatin architecture and various biological processes, which is essential for advancing cancer research and therapeutic strategies.
