Dr. Smita Krishnaswamy

Biography

Smita Krishnaswamy is an Associate Professor at the Yale School of Medicine with a focus on Genetics and Computer Science. She is affiliated with the applied math program, computational biology program, the Yale Center for Biomedical Data Science, and the Yale Cancer Center. Her lab works on developing machine learning techniques to analyze high dimensional and high throughput biomedical data. She specializes in unsupervised machine learning methods, particularly manifold learning, and deep learning techniques for detecting structural patterns in data. Her primary research applications include immunology, immunotherapy, cancer, neuroscience, developmental biology, and health outcomes. Dr. Krishnaswamy has a Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Michigan. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University and has published extensively in the fields of computational biology and deep learning. Her research interests include Allergy Immunology, Computational Biology, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and Neurosciences.
