Biography

Socrates Dokos is an Associate Professor and the Deputy Head of the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney. His research interests focus on computational modelling and the electrical and mechanical properties of excitable tissues. He has published over 160 journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings in his field. Additionally, he authored the sole text 'Modelling Organs, Tissues, Cells Devices'. His work is multidisciplinary and incorporates techniques from computational modelling of large-scale systems identification and experimental electrophysiology, particularly in neural stimulation. In 2011, he served as an editor for the IEEE EMBC Theme 4 on Computational Systems & Synthetic Biology, and is a member of the EMBS Technical Committee Therapeutic Systems Technologies (TC-TST).
