Sofía Pérez-Guzmán is an Assistant Professor at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering with a courtesy appointment at the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Her research focuses on advancing freight transportation supply chain systems through a human-centered lens, with particular emphasis on urban freight, emergency logistics, and urban food systems. She integrates optimization, simulation, and behavioral modeling to inform logistics interventions aimed at sustainability and operational resilience. Current projects involve enhancing disaster relief distribution operations and improving food sustainability within freight transportation solutions. Dr. Pérez-Guzmán teaches courses on multimodal transportation planning and freight transportation modeling.
