Dr. Sofia Saleem

Biography

Sofia Saleem is a teaching faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She teaches foundational courses in computer science, including Data Structures and Discrete Mathematics, striving to introduce students to the joys of computing. With years of experience on cutting-edge projects in the industry, she brings a practical perspective to the classroom. Her courses include EECS 280: Programming (Introductory Data Structures), where students learn programming fundamentals and work on projects such as image processing programs and machine learning algorithms, and EECS 203: Discrete Mathematics, focused on mathematical foundations such as logic and graph theory. Additionally, she teaches EECS 183: Elementary Programming Concepts, covering basic problem-solving techniques.
