Biography

Sofie Haesaert is an Associate Professor in the Control Systems group at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. Her research interests lie in the development and verification of control synthesis methods for cyber-physical systems. As systems become more complex, the efficient and safe design of control for complex cyber-physical systems has become increasingly critical. Sofie Haesaert holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master's degree in Systems Control from Delft University of Technology, graduating cum laude. During her master's, she also spent a summer conducting research at the University of Texas at Arlington in the USA. She obtained her PhD from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in 2017 and subsequently spent 17 months as a postdoctoral researcher at Caltech in the USA. In 2018, she returned to TU/e, where she became an Assistant Professor in the Control Systems group, continuing her contributions to the field.
