My research focuses on finding MR imaging biomarkers that can identify traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients at risk for persistent cognitive symptoms, offering quantitative means to track injury recovery in cognitive domains and potentially track the efficacy of targeted cognitive therapeutic strategies integrated with behavioral health treatment. I aim to reveal the relationship between micro- and macrostructural changes and cognitive performance occurring during injury. In addition, my research centers on developing a novel susceptibility-based MRI technique to resolve the thalamic internal structure, providing direct subject-specific targeting for patients with essential tremor and tremor-dominant Parkinson's disease through MR-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS).
