Dr. Sohrab Rohani

Biography

Sohrab Rohani completed his Ph.D. at the University of Wales specializing in Process Control. He received his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Pahlavi University. His academic tenure began in 1982 when he joined the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Saskatchewan after spending several years at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich. Notably, Rohani has had sabbatical leaves at prestigious institutions including the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), ETH Zurich, and the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Industries Chimiques (ENSIC) in Nancy, France. He served as the Chair of the Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Department at the University of Western Ontario, where he has been recognized for his significant contributions to the field. His accolades include the Engineering Medal for Research Development from Professional Engineers Ontario in 2008, and the Western Faculty of Engineering Award for Excellence in Research in 2009. Rohani's research interests focus on advanced methods in chemical engineering, particularly in process control and biochemical engineering applications.
