Sol Goldberg is an Associate Professor, Teaching Stream, in the Department of Study of Religion at the University of Toronto since 2012. He earned his PhD in Philosophy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, focusing on 'Heidegger on the Possibility of Philosophical Education’. Goldberg hold an MA in Philosophy and History and a BA Honours in Jewish Studies from the same university. His primary research interests lie in modern European philosophy, particularly as it intersects with modern Jewish thought and contemporary issues. Prior to joining the University of Toronto, he was a Senator Jerahmiel S. Carole S. Grafstein Postdoctoral Fellow in Jewish Philosophy. Goldberg has taught various courses including continental philosophy, environmental philosophy, and the philosophy of the Holocaust, critically engaging with normative questions in social philosophy, multiculturalism, and the complexities of anti-Semitism. His current research includes methods and theories concerning the study of antisemitism, supported by an SSHRC Insight Development Grant, working with co-investigators from York University and Tel Aviv University.
