Dr. Soledad Prillaman

Biography

Soledad Artiz Prillaman is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Stanford University. Her research lies at the intersections of comparative political economy, development, and gender, with a specific focus on South Asia. She investigates the political consequences of development policies, particularly examining the political behavior of women and minorities and the extent to which their demands are reflected in policy governance. In her work, she utilizes mixed methods including field experiments, surveys, and in-depth qualitative fieldwork to analyze these dynamics. Prillaman received her Ph.D. in Government from Harvard University in 2017 and holds a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Texas A&M University, completed in 2011.
