Biography

Solina Richter is an internationally trained scholar in nursing and midwifery. She demonstrates strong leadership in promoting global consciousness, alongside advancing initiatives in global health education, research, and service activities. With extensive experience in nursing education, she has supervised numerous master's and doctoral students and mentored international scholars and postdoctoral fellows. Her commitment to student success is highlighted by her receipt of the Faculty of Graduate Studies’ Graduate Supervisor Award from the University of Alberta. Currently, she serves as the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan, one of the top 15 universities in Canada. Dr. Richter is an established researcher whose work focuses on social determinants of health and frontline practices to enhance health for low socioeconomic populations. She leads international research projects intending to understand the complexities of intersectionality within culture, gender, and indigenization, while acting as a mentor for young academics in nursing disciplines at local, national, and international levels.
