Biography

Somayeh Sojoudi is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences and Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. She is a Senior Associate Editor for the IEEE Systems Journal and has served as an Associate Editor for several prestigious journals, including IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid and Systems & Control Letters, as well as IEEE Open Journal on Control Systems and IEEE Access. Her contributions to the academic community include being a member of the conference editorial board for the IEEE Control Systems Society and serving as a senior program committee member and Area Chair for major conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, and ICLR. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades including the NSF CAREER Award, ONR Young Investigator Award, and multiple awards from INFORMS for her research in optimization and data mining. Dr. Sojoudi obtained her PhD in Control & Dynamical Systems from the California Institute of Technology in 2013, and her research interests lie in Optimization Theory, Numerical Algorithms, and their applications at the Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS).
