Dr. Sona Golder

Biography

Professor Golder received her Ph.D. from New York University and has studied at Sciences Po (l’Institut d’études politiques de Paris) and the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on political institutions, with a particular interest in coalition formation. Her early research produced a book that examines the determinants and consequences of electoral alliances in parliamentary democracies. Golder's recent work includes a book titled 'Multi-level Electoral Politics'. She is currently working on a project that interacts with approaches from intersectionality theory. Her research has been published in leading journals in the discipline, such as the American Journal of Political Science and the British Journal of Political Science. In addition to her research contributions, she has served as a co-editor for the British Journal of Political Science and is currently an associate editor for 'Research & Politics'. Golder's projects are funded by organizations such as Canada's Social Sciences and Research Council, focusing on making electoral democracy work, and she is involved in the INSTAPARTY project funded by the Norwegian Research Council.
