Sonali Gnanenthiran is a practising cardiologist and conjoint senior lecturer at the University of New South Wales. She graduated in medicine with First Class Honours and completed her cardiology training at Concord Hospital. Dr. Gnanenthiran earned her PhD with support from a conjoint scholarship with the National Health Medical Research Council of Australia and the Heart Foundation. She conducts post-doctoral research focusing on cardiovascular health and disease, having received the American Heart Association Scientific Sessions Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award in 2020, and was a finalist for the CSANZ Prevention Prize in the same year. Her broad clinical research interests include cardiovascular disease risk assessment, high blood pressure, and the health of older populations, as well as cardiovascular clinical trials and platelet basic science. She currently supervises research for one PhD student and two MD students.
