Biography

Soner Baskaya is a Professor of Economics at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. He has previously worked at the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) in various capacities, including General Manager of the Communications and Foreign Relations Department and Deputy General Manager of the Research Department. He served as Deputy to the CBRT's Turkish Presidency during the G20 in 2015. His teaching experience includes esteemed institutions such as the London School of Economics, Dartmouth College, Brown University, Bilkent University, and the Middle East Technical University. He has also been a Fellow at the London School of Economics' Department of Management and a Research Fellow at the Bank for International Settlements. Soner holds a BA in Economics from Bogazici University, an MSc in Economics from the Middle East Technical University, and both an MA and PhD in Economics from Brown University.
