Prof. Sonja Berensmeier conducts research in the field of bioseparation engineering, focusing on new biofunctional materials and process development for the separation of biotechnologically produced low- and high-molecular biomolecules. She is the Director of the Munich Institute of Integrated Materials and Energy Process Engineering and heads the WACKER Institute for Industrial Biotechnology at TUM. In 2019, she received the Supervisor Advisory Award from the Technical University of Munich for her exceptional supervision of doctoral students, reflecting her commitment to the promotion of young scientists, including serving on the advisory board of TUM:Junge Akademie.
