Biography

Sonja Reichert is an Associate Professor in Family Medicine at Western University and a primary care physician with a focus on diabetes, multi-morbidity, and obesity. As the Brian W. Gilbert Research Chair in Primary Care Research, her work integrates exercise medicine into patient care from a primary care perspective. Reichert has contributed to several peer-reviewed articles and is a contributor to the Diabetes Canada Clinical Practice Guidelines, particularly focusing on diabetes remission. She has been recognized as an award-winning teacher and serves as the director of Western's PGY3 Enhanced Skills Chronic Disease Management Program. Reichert holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Toronto, and a Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University.
