Biography

Sonja Reinhold is a research associate in the field of migration, flight, and integration at the Institute of Political Science at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Since May 2021, she has been working on various projects focusing on the reception, distribution, and accommodation of asylum seekers. Currently, she is involved in the 'More than Four Walls' project, which is supported by the Mercator Foundation and aims to develop innovative ideas for sustainable accommodation in collaboration with municipalities. She has previously worked on the 'Match'In' project, which utilized an algorithmic matching approach for the distribution of asylum seekers. Reinhold has authored a study on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on local integration policies, published by the Robert Bosch Foundation. She holds an LL.M. in European Law from Utrecht University in the Netherlands, where she focused on European Asylum Law.
