Biography

Sonya Crowe holds a PhD in Physics and has extensive experience in operational research, particularly in the healthcare sector. She began her career as an operational research analyst with the Government Operational Research Services, contributing to critical policy issues in the Export Credit Guarantees Department and the UK Department of Health. In 2009, she joined University College London's (UCL) Clinical Operational Research Unit (CORU) to further her academic career in operational research and mathematical modelling applied to healthcare. Crowe has collaborated with various local National Health Service (NHS) organisations and international partners to address global health challenges and has worked with academics from diverse disciplines. In 2013, she was awarded the Health Foundation Improvement Science Fellowship and was appointed as a Lecturer in Operational Research at UCL in 2016. Her career at UCL has seen her take on several significant roles, including Director of CORU from July 2023 and Associate Professor from October 2018 to September 2021.
