Biography

Sooyeon Jeong is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University. Her research focuses on designing and deploying interactive AI agents that improve people's lives by providing personalized support based on users' needs, traits, and behaviors. She deploys agents in real-world settings to evaluate and build relationships and rapport with users over time to enhance wellbeing, health, and learning. Sooyeon received her B.S., M.Eng., and Ph.D. degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Media Arts and Sciences. Prior to joining Purdue, she completed a year as a National Research Service Award Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Behavioral Intervention Technologies at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
