Biography

Sophie Mommers is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Criminal Law at the University of Amsterdam. She teaches in the Bachelor's program in Law and conducts research on the business-like aspects of Dutch criminal law practice, the Dutch criminal court, and the judiciary's right to a fair trial. Sophie's research includes empirical studies focusing on these core areas within the context of the Dutch judiciary. Before her current role, Sophie worked as a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Legal Theory at VU University Amsterdam and in the Department of Criminal Law & Criminology at Radboud University Nijmegen.
