Professor Dr. Soren Brothers

Biography

Soren Brothers is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on the effects of climate change on lakes and how changes in aquatic systems influence greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere. Specifically, he investigates carbon cycling and primary production in lakes that are impacted by direct anthropogenic activities, including various water management approaches in the context of climate change. His studies predominantly explore the interactions between biogeochemical processes and ecological shifts within lakes, with a particular emphasis on incorporating benthic-littoral processes.
