Biography

Søren Kristiansen is a Professor of Sociology at Aalborg University, serving as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. His research primarily examines deviance, leisure consumption, and youth behavior within digital social contexts. Kristiansen has led and contributed to both national and international research projects focusing on topics including gambling, gaming-related crime, youth culture, and the role of civil society in promoting well-being. His methodological approach integrates qualitative fieldwork, interactionist theory, and computer-assisted data analysis, with a strong emphasis on societal impact. His work has influenced policy debates and legislative processes, contributing to regulatory frameworks. Actively involved in interdisciplinary collaborations, Kristiansen welcomes partnerships that bridge sociology, criminology, digital studies, and public policy.
