Biography

Sören Schöbel-Rutschmann is a professor in the field of Landscape Architecture at the Technical University of Munich. His research focuses on conceptual design, open space, and scientific methods within landscape architecture, particularly exploring urban and regional open space structures and cultural energy landscapes. Prior to his appointment, he worked as a freelance designer and project developer while studying landscape planning at the Technical University of Berlin. He earned his doctorate under Prof. Jürgen Wenzel, specifically on Qualitative Open Space Planning. In 2005, Schöbel-Rutschmann was appointed as an associate professor at TUM. He is a registered landscape architect and an active member of several academic and practical associations including the Scientific Board of the Bavarian Academy for Rural Spaces and the German Academy for Urban and Regional Planning.
