Biography

Soterios Loizou joined the Faculty of Law in 2024. His teaching and research at Cambridge focus on Commercial Law, Conflict-of-Laws, and International Arbitration. Throughout his academic career, Soterios has been repeatedly nominated and was a shortlisted finalist for the Teaching Excellence Education Awards. He has been admitted as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), which recognizes his personal commitment to professionalism in teaching and learning in higher education. Soterios has served as a TTLF Fellow at Stanford Law School and as a Hauser Post-Doctoral Fellow at NYU School of Law, and he has held visiting faculty positions at leading legal institutions across Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. His research has garnered numerous awards and prizes, including the prestigious Colin B. Picker Prize from the American Society of Comparative Law (ASCL) and the Young Comparativists Committee (YCC) Fifth Annual Global Conference Prize in 2016, as well as prizes in international competitions and conferences in the field of dispute resolution and international arbitration.
