Sourav Ghosh obtained his Master of Science in Zoology from the University of Calcutta, where he studied Drosophila mosquito genetics. He completed his graduate studies on cell cytoskeleton protein trafficking at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, under the mentorship of John V. Cox. Following this, he conducted postdoctoral research on cell signaling at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies under Tony Hunter’s guidance. In 2007, he joined the University of Arizona as an Assistant Professor, and in 2014, he moved to Yale University School of Medicine. At Yale, Dr. Ghosh co-directs a lab with Dr. Carla Rothlin, focusing on the regulation of inflammation. Their research aims to investigate the molecular mechanisms that negatively regulate inflammation to ensure that both the amplitude and duration of inflammation are 'just right.' This research addresses defects in molecular circuits that lead to chronic pathological issues such as inflammation, autoimmunity, and problems in wound healing, with a goal of harnessing these insights to improve anti-cancer immunity.
