Biography

Souvik Dhara is an Assistant Professor in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. He completed his PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science in 2018 at Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands, and also holds a Master's degree in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute and a Bachelor's degree in Statistics from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, affiliated with the University of Calcutta. His previous positions include Postdoctoral Research Associate at Brown University and a fellow at various prestigious institutes including the Microsoft Research Lab and the Simons Institute. His research interests are rooted in large-scale networks, inference algorithms, stochastic processes, and high-dimensional probability statistics, with specific focuses on clustering networks, epidemic information spread, and random graphs. Dhara has been honored with multiple awards, including the IMS New Researcher Travel Award and the Stieltjes Prize, reflecting his contributions and potential in statistical research and network theory.
