Biography

Spyridon Kotsovilis obtained his PhD in Political Science from McGill University and was a Neporany doctoral fellow. He has trained in Complex Systems at the Santa Fe Institute in New Mexico. Throughout his career, Kotsovilis has taught at both McGill University and the University of Toronto, specifically at Scarborough and St. George. He is an associate graduate faculty member at the Munk School of Global Affairs and has been an inaugural instructor for the tri-campus Global Leadership program's introductory course. Kotsovilis has received the Superior Teaching award from the Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Toronto in 2018, along with several teaching grants supporting innovative pedagogies and mixed methods teaching. In addition to his academic pursuits, he has worked with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) and has served as an elected member of the MSF Canada Association.
