Biography

Srdan Keca is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art & Art History at Stanford University, where he teaches in the MFA Documentary Film Program. His films, such as LETTER DAD and MIRAGE ESCAPE, have been screened at prominent documentary film festivals including IDFA, DOK Leipzig, and the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. His video installations have been exhibited at notable venues like the Venice Biennale and Whitechapel Gallery. Keca is known for his found-footage film FLOTEL EUROPA, which premiered at the 2015 Berlin Film Festival and earned the Tagesspiegel Jury Prize. His upcoming feature documentary MUSEUM REVOLUTION, currently in postproduction, focuses on the community living remnants of architectural projects from socialist Yugoslavia. He has received support from the Sundance Documentary Film Fund, the MEDIA Fund of the European Commission, and the Al Jazeera Documentary Channel for his projects. In 2020, he pitched his film SOUND HIGH AIR, which explores the themes of climate change and migration. Keca is a graduate of the National Film Television School in the UK, specializing in documentary directing, and has been involved in various academic and advisory roles.
