Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Sreeganga Chandra. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Sreeganga S. Chandra received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Purdue University. She conducted postdoctoral research focusing on neuronal cell biology and neurodegeneration in the lab of Thomas C. Südhof at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Currently, she is a Professor in the Departments of Neurology and Neuroscience at Yale University. Her research interests involve exploring the roles of the endolysosomal pathway in Parkinson's disease and protein palmitoylation, as well as the physiological functions of synucleins. She investigates synapse maintenance and has identified novel genes related to synaptic integrity. Dr. Chandra is particularly interested in neurodegenerative diseases, including Neurolipid Ceroid-Lipofuscinoses, and the molecular mechanisms underpinning neuronal health and disease.
