Dr. Sreekanta Das

Biography

Sreekanta Das is a Professor and Associate Dean of Research at the University of Windsor, specializing in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, a Master’s degree from the University of Wollongong, and a Bachelor’s degree from Calcutta University. His professional experience includes roles as a Structural Engineer in the oil and gas sector in India, Research Assistant at the University of Wollongong, and Defence Scientist with the Department of National Defence in Canada. Dr. Das is actively engaged in research on environmentally sustainable cementitious materials and steel modular construction utilizing 3D printing. He has also conducted extensive studies on the behavior of masonry structures and the fatigue behavior of steel pipes used in the oil and gas industry. His commitment to academia is reflected in his invitation for doctoral students to join his research group, especially those with strong technical backgrounds in civil engineering and programming. Dr. Das is a Professional Engineer in Alberta and has participated in various technical committees relevant to construction standards.
